Every Wednesday night we have fabulous live Swing and Jazz perfomances by our resident artists.
Sit back and enjoy an amazing meal, watch the sun go down over the English Channel and listen to some brilliant live music, maybe finish the night with a classic cocktail or two. Performace times: 19.00 to 21.00
Friday Nights 2023
Friday nights are party night at The Waterfront! Our amazing singers perform a lively selection of classic and modern Pop and R&B to get you in the party mood for the weekend. Expect a good Singalong and maybe even a bit of dancing. Every Friday they do three sets between 7.30pm and 10.30pm
Sunday Afternoons 2023
Every Sunday afternoon we have wonderful relaxed live Swing and Jazz perfomances by our resident singers who create a relaxing and fun atmosphere for the whole family.
Enjoy a traditional family roast dinner with views over the English Channel and listen to some brilliant live music..

Meet The Singers
Victoria Bass
Victoria Bass is a Vintage inspired Vocalist from Folkstone with a voice straight from the swing-time era! She has a first-class honours degree in Professional Music Performance and has been performing for over ten years! Victoria has built up a strong repertoire of songs from the 1920s, to modern day in a jazz/ swing style. Victoria performs songs from all the jazz greats such as Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Doris Day, as well as unexpected modern hits in a retro style. Q&A What is your favourite song(s) to perform at The Waterfront? I love performing easy listening Jazz/ Swing through the eras from the 1920s to 2020s so that all ages of audience can enjoy my performance. Some of my favourite artists to cover are Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Natalie Cole, Peggy Lee and Norah Jones. What do you most like about performing at The Waterfront? I love the decor and overall atmosphere at The Waterfront, it's such an eclectic venue with so much to look at and enjoy. What/who are your earliest musical influences? I'm influenced by artists beyond my years. As I've previously mentioned my main influences are of the 40s/50s Jazz and Swing era. Influences include Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Natalie Cole, Etta James, Doris Day, Frank Sinatra and many more. If you could duet with one artist (dead or alive) who would it be? It would have to be Elvis. I adore him and his music. What type of music do you listen to in your spare time? As a musician I love all types of music and not the genres I specialise in. It may suprise people that I perform in an Abba theatre show, touring round the UK and beyond, as well as a 1950s and 60s rock and roll group. I have a very open ear to all kinds of music and love discovering new artists. Do you have a favourite live music memory (either where you attended or were performing)? I love it when younger audience members are inspired by my performances. I've had many occasions, especially at the waterfront where small children have drawn pictures of me and given to me at the end of their performance. I love the idea that I'm keeping older music alive for the next generation
Paul Barker
Paul Barker is a highly experienced performer, who enjoys singing a variety of genres of music including Pop, Swing, RnB and Jazz. Paul started singing professionally from an early age. At one gig, he was approached by an A&R rep from a record label and was signed, as an artist and songwriter. Recently, Paul has settled in Folkestone with his family. He’s currently building a recording studio to record and write with his eldest son, who seems to have the same passion for music as his Dad! Q&A What is your favourite song(s) to perform at The Waterfront? I love “Feeling good” because as the name suggests, it’s a great feel-good song. I also love singing “Somebody to love” nearer the end of the evening. I love doing some of the slower songs when the diners have been known to wave their table lights in the air. What do you most like about performing at The Waterfront? The friendly, welcoming team and of course, the amazing sea view. I also love interacting with the diners. What/who are your earliest musical influences? My dad was a huge musical influence growing up. He’d always have the radio on. I used to “steal” some of his LP’s and CD’s and play them in my bedroom! I absolutely love Stevie Wonder too. He’s a musical genius! If you could duet with one artist (dead or alive) who would it be? Freddie Mercury - what an ultimate performer! What type of music do you listen to in your spare time? Absolutely everything. I appreciate all genres of music, but I mostly listen to pop and RnB. Do you have a favourite live music memory (either where you attended or were performing)? Performing at Party in the Park at the Paddock Wood hop farm. Was an amazing experience in front of a sea of 35,000 people.
Miss Holiday Swing
‘Miss Holiday Swing’ is a Jazz & Swing Vocalist. She has studied musical theatre and showcases her talents as a Vintage Style Singer, often described as performing from head to toe! The Vintage Jazz Vocalist of Today Specialising in music from the 1920's to Postmodern Jukebox! Miss Holiday Swing has firmly secured her place as a Wartime tribute singer across the UK. In recent years, has expanded her repertoire immensely, dedicating her career to the music from the 1920's to the 2020's, but always performing with her retro flare! Q&A What is your favorite song(s) to perform at The Waterfront? "It's A Lovely Day" by Ella Fitzgerald and "Zing! Went the Strings" by Frank Sinatra What do you most like about performing at The Waterfront? The gorgeous setting and surroundings! The decor inside is almost and beautiful as the Sea View....almost ;) What/who are your earliest musical influences? I actually grew up with & trained in Muscial Theatre so my earliest influences are the likes of Doris Day, Barbra Streissand, Julie Andrews & Judy Garland. I also LOVED (and still do) Shania Twain. And I was heavily influenced by Van Morrison too (somebody I've had the privilege to perform in front of!) If you could duet with one artist (dead or alive) who would it be? Michael Bublé - a typical answer but I just think he's wonderful! What type of music do you listen to in your spare time? I honestly live & breathe Jazz, Swing & RnR! With Shania Twain thrown in. I do have quite an eclectic music library though, whatever makes me feel good! Do you have a favourite live music memory (either where you attended or were performing)? I've been on holiday a few times to the Greek Island of Skiathos and there is a live music bar there called "The Blind Dog" and it is one of the most feel good places for enjoying music! One of the times I visited was for a wedding and, it wasn't planned, but the entire wedding party ended up in "The Blind Dog" (wedding attire and all!) And partied until the early hours of the morning! Just wonderful.
Jason Allen
Voted Best Male Singer at the National Entertainment Awards 2013, Jason Allen is one of the finest and most talked about singers in the UK. His tribute to The Great American Songbook includes some of the greatest swing songs ever written, performed by some of the world’s biggest stars including Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr and modern favourites Michael Bublé, Jamie Cullum & Robbie Williams. Jason started his career in 1999 when he enrolled at the Academy Drama School, London. Since then, he has worked professionally as a singer and actor in various musical theatre productions. Q&A What is your favourite song(s) to perform at The Waterfront? Dream a little Dream. Lovely song. What do you most like about performing at The Waterfront? The relaxed atmosphere and the Sound of the sea. What/who are your earliest musical influences? Swing/jazz, the ratpack Elvis, the Beatles . If you could duet with one artist (dead or alive) who would it be? Michael Feinstein. What type of music do you listen to in your spare time? Changes all the time. At the moment Damon Albarn's new stuff. Very arty. Do you have a favourite live music memory (either where you attended or were performing)? I was performing a Buble set at the Kent cricket club 12 years ago, for a match being played on sky sports and a group of ladies ran on the pitch to hug me and were escorted off by security. Was very funny and has never happened again since.
Jannifer Maslin
Jennifer Maslin is a classically trained, versatile singer who loves singing jazz. She has forged a career as a professional performer and singing teacher. Specialising in Jazz and Classical Singing as well as a Solo and Session Violinist You'll usually find her singing easy-listening jazz standards in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish - especially from the 40s and 50s, as well as bossa nova, ballads and some blues. Accompanying her to most performances is her trusty violin, which compliments her singing with a cheeky solo or takes the main stage to spice things up with a pop song or piece from a musical or film! Q&A What is your favorite song(s) to perform at The Waterfront? Currently it's Amy Winehouse's version of Mr Magic...but who knows next time! What do you most like about performing at The Waterfront? It's the perfect setting by the seaside - super friendly staff, beautifully decorated and a great mix of style and comfort. Not to mention they clearly love good live music, scheduling it at least twice a week! What/who are your earliest musical influences? My dad. He introduced me to so many different styles of music - from choral to the Clash! Apparently, the reason I love Sting and the Police is because he used to rock my baby rocker with his foot in front of the loudspeaker whilst reading a book. He also plays the piano and organ and has been one of my biggest supporters. I also know all the words to Eddier Reader's collaboration album with Fairground Attraction by heart, start to finish. If you could duet with one artist (dead or alive) who would it be? Oh no, this is too hard... Jamie Cullum. I love his fresh arrangements of classics! What type of music do you listen to in your spare time? Such a broad range! Classical choral, Beyonce...and all the jazz greats. Do you have a favourite live music memory (either where you attended or were performing)? I once attended a workshop for creatives. Many there had lost their "spark" and we were asked to think back to when we last felt truly alive. I realised I'm lucky to say that, for me, this is most times I'm performing - so that's pretty regularly!
Josh Hassell
Josh is a versatile singer / songwriter based in Medway, Kent. After starting out singing mostly jazz and swing music, today his repertoire is varied and extensive. Josh performs songs from many different genres from country to pop! He also has plenty of experience as a session musician as well as working at weddings and various functions. He records in professional studios across London where he recorded his first original album. Josh has a rich and resonant baritone voice that suits any occasion or setting. I remember singing the song ‘Bad Day’ by Daniel Powter at a school concert and the lights went off due to a power failure midway through, but I carried on singing - maybe it was a sign.
